10 REASONS WHY 2007 DIDN'T SUCK ASS

(A relatively old photograph from a UP Los Banos gig; posted only because it looks vaguely, uh, cool)

1. We released our third album. Finally.

2. Despite the fact that the album did not make us richer than God and Bamboo, it received overwhelmingly radiant reviews. Except for those who thought that "it had too many notes."

3. Inclusions in tribute compilations: Hopia, Mani, Popcorn (where we mangled a Rico J. Puno classic) and the Apo Part 2. (which saw an even worse mangling of "Siyotang Pa-Class.")
4. We'd like to thank Red Horse. For the gigs. And the beer, of course.

5. Rock Ed Philippines and Dakila. For the support.

6. The expansion of the Terno Recordings family, signing up great new bands like Bandang Shirley, Sleepwalk Circus, Musical O, and Swissy. And Alamid. Just kidding.

7. Our trombonist Pards Tupas got married. And is expecting a baby soon.

8. A mailing list with more than a thousand members, with only three or four showing genuine Sago interest. The rest think we're actually interested in their gigs or their stupid Friendster updates.

9. The Producer of the Year honor from the 2007 NU 107 Rock Awards.

10. Despite the beer, the cigarettes, and medications like... Diatabs, we're still breathing.

Lourd and Francis de Veyra are NU 107 Rock Awards '07 Producers of the Year

(Francis fails to walk onstage. Kumakain sa likod. Tanga; Lourd kisses pussy, este Kitty Girls as reward)

For their work on "Tanginamo Andaming Nagugutom sa Mundo Fashionista Ka Pa Rin," the De Veyra brothers won this year's NU 107 Rock Awards Producer of the Year honor. Big mystery, considering that the band only seems to have a total fanbase of 10 (excluding parents and girlfriends), and were up against accomplished producers like Angee Rozul, Robin Rivera, and Robert Javier. Nevertheless, the band remains thankful for its first ever award that has absolutely nothing to do with music videos.

Grateful acknowledgement goes out to the guilty parties who actually made the album sound better than what the band had intended: Sweetspot Recordings, Mark Laccay, Noel de Brackinghe, Malek Lopez (for post-prod and mixing) and Shinji Tanaka (for the lay-in/live recording). Much love and respect also goes out to Toti Dalmacion and the ever-supportive Terno Recordings family. We are also equally thankful to all the critics and their persuasively positive opinions on the album. Last but not the least, to the loyal members of the radioactivesagoproject mailing list and everyone who took the time out to vote-- crushingly tight hugs and sloppy kisses y'all. Lourd would also like to thank all his gorgeous co-presentors-- the Kitty Girls (sort of like our version of the Pussycat Dolls)-- for the mwah-mwah. Oh, and the Brazilian models, too, whose names we forgot. Basta mababango silang lahat.

On an equally happy note, Sago trombonist Pards Tupas got married to Christian on the same day. Which explains the barongs the entire band was wearing during the performance of "Wasak na Wasak." Thanks to Mark (for screaming, in place of Bert Bitch Jr.), RA Rivera (on triangle and Korg Kaoss Pad), and the ever-suave Ramon Bautista for jamming with us. And the near-naked Jun Sabayton, for streaking across the stage for the finale.

Salamat din kay Gang Badoy at Rock Ed Philippines para sa vaaaaan! Para hindi na drunk driving.

Stay posted for more on the Rock Awards happenings.
